Top Water Sports to Try on Your Summer Vacation
Summer is around the corner, and almost every member of the family, regardless of age is looking for places and activities to spend their summer vacation.
Now, if you plan to spend your summer on the beaches or rather in the waters, here are the top 7 water activities to try in the upcoming summer vacation:
1. Kayaking
Kayaking lets you enjoy the summer while paddling, relaxing, and enjoying the breeze.
With a kayak, you can row to the middle of the sea smoothly and take fresh, relaxing air along with the stunning views of natural beauty surrounding you.
I find kayaking tours fulfilling to the mind and soul, especially when watching the sunset from a kayak.
The experience is exhilarating and will allow you to forget the hectic and stressful life.
2. Kite Surfing
Kite surfing combines several elements of snowboarding, wakeboarding, gymnastics, kite surfing, and even paragliding.
Kite surfing uses a surfboard for sliding in the water, and a kite for catching the air.
What we liked about kite surfing is that it’s mentally challenging because you need to make constant and quick decisions to maintain an upright and balanced posture.
3. Skimboarding
Skimboarding is a fusion between surfing and skateboarding.
Normally, its performed in the shallow waters near the shore, and you don’t necessarily need large waves to enjoy this activity.
At least, what you need is a quality skimboard, a little room for running, and the same abilities and aptitudes that make a good skateboarder.
To skimboard, stand ahead of the incoming surf line to get a running start, and once up to speed, toss the board into the water and jump on it.
4. Deep-Sea Diving
Deep-sea diving, like its name, suggests, let you explore the depths of the sea.
There’s a lot to like about deep-sea diving, but sometimes, exploring the deeper depths in itself is fulfilling.
Under the water, you get to enjoy tan eerily quietness, with the only sound being that of the regulator and low bubble sounds.
Unfortunately, deep-sea diving requires some training and specialized equipment. The good news is, the training is not arduous.
5. Underwater Sea Walk
Now, if you’re not a certified diver, it’s still possible to explore the beauty of the underwater world without the need for diving.
Underwater sea walks, you walk on the ocean floor, and here, it’s easy to explore the various species o fishes, coral reefs, drenched ships, and more.
In most cases, however, an instructor will accompany you during the tour, and you’ll have specialized equipment such as swimsuits and helmets for uninterrupted breathing.
6. Snorkeling
Snorkeling is yet another form of deep-sea diving, but it doesn’t take you to the greater depths as deep-sea diving does.
Instead, it allows you to explore the ocean from the surface using a snorkel dive mask alongside a breathing tube.
Like deep-sea diving, this sport will offer you the chance to observe marine plants, fish, and coral reefs.
The good thing with snorkeling is that it’s ideal for everyone since it has no age limit, and it doesn’t matter whether you have any previous diving experience.
It’s also known to help with stress management as well as improved breathing.
7. Stand-up Paddleboarding
This is an amazing water sport to enjoy and relax while paddling and enjoying the magnificent views offered by Mother Nature.
While paddle boarding, it’s advisable that you consider putting sunscreen because the rays reflecting from water might cause sunburns on your skin.
Nonetheless, this sport is ideal, especially for those who are looking to calmly ride on the water, as opposed to riding the waves as surfers do.
