Swing On for a Good Time

The sea can be a fun place, especially when there’s a fun beach you can only get to if you go by boat. The Koh Phi Phi Don Island is home to a lot of natural beauty, and you can get to it with relative ease. One of the best places to visit is Monkey Island, which is not too far from Phuket and a very long way from your troubles.

Half the Fun in Itself

Some people say that getting there is half the fun, and getting to Monkey Beach by way of Monkey Island is no exception to this rule. You can go there by tour boat, and it’s a breezy little trip. If you happen to find someone with a speed boat, it can be downright exhilarating to get to the bay area. Or believe it or not, you can even kayak if you desire.

Just be wary since the kayaking can get a little rough. Just like bicycling down a major city street when cars are whizzing past you can be a bit dangerous, navigating the wakes that are generated by all of the passing boats can become a challenge. If you’re not a very experienced kayaker, you may want to skip out on this one. But then, if you’re up to the challenge, it can be nice knowing that you don’t need anybody else to island hop to Monkey Beach Thailand at your own pace.

So Many Creatures

It would naturally be inappropriate to call the place Monkey Beach, let alone Monkey Island, if there were not a large number of small furry primates running around. You’re not really supposed to feed them, but so many people do so that it has become something of a cliché and tradition. The habitat is still very natural, and every boat tour catches glimpses of monkeys just going about their days.

The macaques in Monkey Island are of the much smaller variety, which lends them a cuteness that their larger cousins simply don’t have. The largest monkeys you’re likely going to see in this area won’t be much bigger than a pug. Keep in mind that they can still bite, so it’s not a good idea to try to get in close to take selfies with them or pet them.

Bright and Sprightly

Monkeys are well-known for monkeying around, and the critters on Monkey Island are known to take anything they can get their little hands on. They are foragers by nature, so if they take something from you, it’s by nature, and not maliciousness. It’s important to remember that monkeys see some of us in themselves, as they perceive eye contact or showing one’s teeth (even smiling) as a threat.

The energy levels of these monkeys are incredible. Just watching them scurry and climb, even when they fall, can be a lot of fun. Since they are so used to people, the monkeys won’t mind if you’re near. Overall, the local wildlife is a good company.
