Success Begins In The Mind: Taking Charge Of Your Thoughts To Take Over The World
This post was last updated on March 22nd, 2024
Let’s face it—-life is not getting any slower for any of us. We jump out of bed at 6 a.m., and immediately we begin rushing around to pack as much of our “to do” list as we can into the next fourteen hours before we fall into bed, exhausted. We wonder where the time went as we deal with the minutia of our day, not getting to some of the bigger ticket items and goals that we have for our lives. How are we supposed to achieve our success goals if we can’t even manage to do the evening dishes each night?
Let’s take a good, hard look at the gap that exists between “the haves and the have-nots”. We may perceive that we are not successful, because we haven’t been able to get our business idea off the ground, or we may not have made our first six-figure salary yet. Success is more than material, however. In order to look at what we define as success, we must look at our health, our relationships, our career, our emotional state, and our spiritual pursuits. What is truly important to us? Once we define what success is, we can begin to move forward toward creating a powerful, well-rounded, superb existence.
Success is a combination of thoughts, words, and actions that bring us peace, vibrant health and prosperity. Like it or not, however, before we begin to act in pursuit of our goals, we must acknowledge that success begins in the mind. The thoughts that we entertain literally become our reality, so it is imperative that we take charge of them as we work toward creating our highest ideals of life.
How do we take charge of our thoughts? How do we get to a place where we think, feel, and act in ways that are consistent with reaching our goals? There are some strategies that the “big success gurus” use to take charge of the mind and turn it into one of the most powerful success tools that we have at our disposal. Take note, take charge, and get going to create your best life with these mind-bending tips:
Take a life inventory
In order to know where you are going, you must be able to see where you currently are. It’s time to ask some tough and uncomfortable questions about your current state of affairs, such as:
- Are you happy with your relationships?
- Are you happy with your career? What might you change?
- What motivates you?
- What are your dreams?
- What must you get rid of in your life in order to move forward?
Be prepared–asking these questions might bring you to a point of pivotal change in your life. But it could also be a time of incredible insight and awareness of who you truly are and what you must move toward as part of your unique life expression. Become aware of your feelings, and learn that they are not something to be imprisoned by, but liberated from as you use them as powerful tools for change.
Find success tools that retrain your mind
We are all predisposed to being at the mercy of the thoughts that float through our minds, and they shape our day. If we grew up in a home that was loving, supportive, and positive, then our self-talk will reflect much of this as we set goals and happily work toward achieving them. However, if our upbringing was lack, limitation, and negativity, then this is going to spill over into our reality and give us all kinds of conditions that we don’t want. Did you know that you can retrain your mind to think thoughts that you choose?!? Effective tools that assist you in eliminating destructive thoughts and replacing them with constructive and affirmative ones are used by many high achievers to help them achieve consistently high goals. Tony Robbins, known far and wide as a success mogul, swears that neuro-linguistic programming saved and changed his life. He uses this technique to change the lives of thousands of seminar attendees each year, improving their quality of life and affecting all who see and hear him. Using techniques such as NLP or subliminal mind programming techniques will allow you to remove those thoughts that are holding you back while replacing less productive thoughts with those that are moving you in the direction of your goals.
Guard your newly transformed mind
It is a little known but powerful truth that your thoughts can affect your health . If your thoughts become your reality, then entertaining negative and limited thoughts can do damage to your body at a cellular level. Studies have now proven that negative thoughts have the capability to:
- Make you ill
- Contribute to your depression
- Limit your ability to remember things
- Increase your stress levels
- Contribute to weight gain or an eating disorder
Guard that newly scrubbed mind of yours, and practice mindfulness and positive thinking techniques daily. You will be safeguarding your life, your goals, and even your health.
Practice mindfulness and meditation
One fundamental step in learning to master your thoughts is learning to quiet those voices that might sabotage you if they are allowed to roam free through your mind. Practicing deep breathing, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness are all ways to regain control over the frantic mind and bring you to a state of inner peace that will be seen in your outer life as well.
You too, can have the success you desire! Begin by taking inventory of your life, thoughts, and feelings, and then make a plan to implement change by practicing new, successful habits. You’ll be sailing toward success in no time!
