Cancer Overview
Cancer is the most menacing and high risk disease caused due to abnormal gene function. Genes are the fragments of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). They have the instructions on how to manufacture the proteins the body needs to function, when to destroy the damaged cells, and how to maintain balance between the cells. Our genes control things such as eye color, hair color, and height. These genes can also get affected by certain diseases, such as cancer. Cancer is also called malignancy, which is an abnormal and divergent growth of cells. However, there are more than 100 types of cancer, including kidney cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma.
Cancer’s Affiliation with Young Generation
Due to the rapid changes in the lifestyle of youngsters, who are equipped with latest technological devices, such as Smartphones, Laptops, PC’s Tabs, iPods, Bluetooth Earpieces have been observed by the doctors with disturbing hike in the cancer risks. While males are diagnosed with head, neck and oral cancers, females are affected by cervical and breast. Over last three years, Gujarat Cancer Research Institute has observed an increased rate in breast cancer from 20% to 40%. Coming to lung and oral cancers, there is a significant escalation, from 10% to 15% respectively in youngsters. However, around 66% of cancer patients are being treated who are suffering because of tobacco and smoking habits. Not only these, despite of HIV/AIDS awareness, there are so many cancer risks associated with HIV/AIDS patient and there are various other cancers which are related mostly with the youngsters. As we all know “prevention is better than cure”, then for the prevention we should better take some precautions in order to avoid cancer risks in future, especially for the young generation people. Here are some of the preventions and precautions to be taken especially by the youngsters to avert cancer risks for now and future.
- Try not to use RF/MW radiation emitting devices such as Wi-Fi Routers, Baby Monitors, Bluetooth Earpieces, Smart Boards, Antennas, Smart Meters, Cordless Phones, Smart Phones, Laptops, Tabs as they emit RF/MW electromagnetic radiation which get the Fetuses and Fertility at cancer risk.
- Females should have proper diet as obesity and alcohol consumption can lead to breast cancers. However, radiation exposure can also increase the risk of breast cancer.
- Avoid tobacco intake and smoking as these are the prime reasons behind lung cancer.
- Stay away from alcohol, or consume alcohol very less to avoid any kind of cancer risk in your liver.
- Anal cancer which occurs in the anus, are rising in the most region of India. The common causes are sexual partner numbers, receptive anal intercourse and smoking.
- Penile Cancer which affects men, has various causes such as poor personal hygiene, multiple sexual partners, tobacco consumption.
- Being over-weight, and using tobacco products can also lead to kidney cancers, so try not to over indulge in fatty foods, junk foods and tobacco products. The risk of Kidney cancer drops as soon as the person quits tobacco.
