Kochadaiiyan is a 3D motion capture adventure fiction action film directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and produced by Sunil Lulla and Sunanda Murali Manohar. Starring superstar Rajinikanth and south beauty, Deepika Padukone, this movie explains the story of an eighth century warrior who seeks revenge from a cruel ruler who had wrongly punished his father, an extremely loyal and brave warrior of the kingdom. This movie is India’s first photorealistic performance capture film that shares the same technology as used in Avatar. Though the critics had some issue with the effective use of the technology, but the performances and screenplay received huge applause. The film received enormous response in Tamil but in other parts of the country, the movie could not fare well. In fact, it enjoyed an average commercial success.
