Bobby Lytes of Love and Hip Hop: Miami made waves on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet flaunting his “Make America Gay Again” jacket. Moreover, the prominent rapper turned the Trump slogan “Make America Great Again” on its head. President Donald Trump repeatedly used the slogan for his presidential campaigns.
The 27-year-old LAHH star despises people making assumptions about him or his sexuality. Likewise, Lytes also believes that growing up with “nothing” in a rough neighborhood led him to use music as a therapy and succeed.
The VH1 star and rapper, Lytes is the first openly gay cast member of the VH1 franchise. Likewise, Bobby is the first cousin of Love & Hip-hop star, Trina.
The LAHH series chronicles his career struggles as a gay rapper in the homophobic hip-hop industry. The Miami version of the famous reality show features Trina and Lytes including Prince, Amara La Negra, Gunplay, Veronica Vega, Shay Johnson, and Trick Daddy. In the first season of Love & Hip-hop, Bobby discovers that his boyfriend, Jeffery of a year and a half had been cheating on him with his ex-boyfriend Malik.

Bobby Lytes’ Dating and Relationships
The LAHH star, Bobby was in relationship with his former boyfriend and business partner, Jeffery “JT” White since 2015. Despite of being in a relationship for a year and half, the relationship between the pair turned sour with time and the duo broke up. There has been various complications and discomfort between the pair prior to their divorce. The main reason for the LAHH’s power couple to part their ways might be Bobby’s tight schedule and his inability to give time for his partner.
The feud between former ex-boyfriend, Malik Williams and Bobby started when Jeffrey went out with Malik. Moreover, Bobby and Malik exchanged harsh argument over Jeffrey. The conversation got heated up when Malik confessed that Bobby was the only wall between the relationship between him and Jeffery. Malik Williams is the former ex-boyfriend of Bobby and according to Bobby, one of the reasons for their breakup. Furthermore, Jeffery admits that he loved Bobby at one point of time but it did not go as planned.

Bobby wasn’t the only VMA attendee to put up a bold red-carpet statement. The musician Logic delivered a highly political and powerful performance for his song “One Day” using a backdrop of immigration illustrated by a U.S. Border Patrol graphic. Moreover, the American rapper wore a T-shirt that read “F*CK THE WALL” referencing President Donald Trump’s proposed border crossing deterrent.
Besides, the musician was supported and joined by members of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, United We Dream, Make the Road New York, and their children on stage for the performance. Likewise, the children on the stage wore shirts with “We are all human beings.”
The MTV Video Music Awards featured various political moments including the appearance of Stormy Daniel’s Lawyer, Micheal Avenatti. The invited that it’s not his last VMAs and is considering running for president. Besides that, the 2018 Best Hip-hop award was bagged by Nicki Minaj for the song “Chun Li”. Likewise, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, and Camilo Cabello were awarded the Song of the Year, Best Pop and Artist of the Year respectively.
