Changes made for getting a CSQ in Quebec

As per the recent news, it is expected that in 2018, there will be nearly 50,000 immigrants. There are some restrictive measures taken in receiving the new applications for CSQ. The government said that the restrictions are not imposed to affect the newcomers to the province but it has been imposed to process the applications that are pending and speed up the processing time.

From 15th August 2018, as per the restrictions laid in the new applications, the government has decided to accept only 5000 candidates coming under the program of QSW.  The workers with the job offer and the residents who are living temporary in the state are not included in the application quota. They can submit their CSQ applications as there are no restrictions on them.

The PEQ candidates are also allowed to apply any time for the CSQ application. For the entrepreneurs, investors and self-employed, the CSQ application won’t be received.

The Quebec government is wanting to modernize the immigration system and therefore some key points of the federal Express Entry system are integrated with it. For instance, the QSW candidates will have to submit the “declaration of interest”. So, the “first come, first served” model that is used currently will be replaced. The declaration of interest given by the candidate will be registered for one year in the system. Based on the ranking system, a score will be given to the candidate. Those candidates that will be having the more score will get an invite for CSQ application.

The candidate having 12 years old or younger children will receive 4 additional points while the candidates having children between the age of 13 to 21 years will get 2 points. Maximum of 8 points will be received. The candidate has to show that he/she has proper fund to arrange for the migration.The applicants have to meet the minimum fund requirement for moving to Quebec.
