Sweltering summer days are really exhausting and stressful as you lose all your body energy by sweat and work pressure. Excess heat dulls your mind and body making you feel all sluggish. Even many people feel fatigued in summer days especially the day time. That’s because at the day time the temperature is high and we lose maximum energy while working. Less sleep due to summer heat makes you feel fatigued in the day time. It is very much essential to boost your energy level and recharge your energy bar in summer. Slight changes in diet temporarily can make you feel energized and refreshed all day.
Here are the ways to boost your energy level in summer.
1. Drink gallons of water
Yes, drinking water is very much essential to stay healthy anytime. Water keeps your body temperature under control and cools down your system. It purifies your skin and enhances your digestion system by energising you.
2. Get a good laugh everyday
This may sound quite wacky but getting a good laugh has too many advantages. It not only relieves mad mood and lessens your stress but also reduces the fatigue effect from your body within 20 minutes. So, this summer get an amazing sitcom and keep laughing.
3. Workout for 8 minutes
Summer is too hot for workouts. You may get skin rashes, prickly heats and even sun burns. So, you can have a brisk walk for atleast 8 minutes by keeping your head high and your arms swinging which stimulates your brain to produce ATP which is a co-enzyme that is the key form of energy. This reduces lactic acid produced due to fatigue which is a waste product getting clogged up in your tissues.
4. Get a cold pack
Applying a cold pack on head, neck, arms, wrists and shoulders where blood vessels run close to the skin surface is very much helpful to stay energized. According to the studies of National Sleep Foundation women struggle more with insomnia in summer days as the late sunsets and the warm & humid weather checks the fall of body temperature which is essential for getting a good sleep. Lack in sleep can cause fatigue all day hence cuddling up with some cold packs induces good sleep within 15 minutes.
5. Add folic acid and iron to your diet
Excessive heat drains out all the body energy increasing the stress level. And this is most commonly found in women which makes them feel fatigues, brain fog and less concentration hence eating more meat, poultry, eggs and foods which are rich in iron and folic acid could pump up the mineral stores of the body.
6. Crave for sweet potatoes
Sweet potatoes are enriched with potassium and beta-carotene nutrients that nourish energy producing adrenal glands. Adding sweet potatoes to your meal can energize you for three hours by reducing summer fatigue.
7. Get your toes massaged
The sweltering heat of summer blocks your central nervous system’s ability to balance ample blood flow to the brain and muscles which makes you dull and sluggish. Massaging the soles of your feet which has got the tickling spots that the acupressure points having clusters of nerves sends stimulation to the blood vessels and dilates and relaxes the arteries by enhancing the flow of energizing blood to the brain and muscles. Massaging toes also stimulates your brain to produce endorphins which fights fatigue.
8. Stretch as much as you can
Stretching for 60 seconds like raising your hands to reach the ceiling, touching your toes, scrunching your shoulders and rolling your head increases your energy level and stamina up to 45 per cent in one hour. Stretching enhances the oxygen rich blood to flow to your hearts, lungs, muscles and nerves and restores your energy.
9. Smell the citric aroma
Smelling the citric aroma in the morning after waking up enhances your mood elevating beta waves in your brain and maximizes alertness. Summer days heat and humidity affects brain’s ability adversely by lowering mood elevating beta waves, but inhaling citric and tangy aroma of lemon and orange could restore your energy.
10. Sip more green tea
Green tea increases antioxidants in your body which restores your energy. Green tea refreshes you and minimizes stress level hence activates your mind your body. Green tea also increases your metabolism which generates energy in your body.
