How Living in PG

Cheaper and Healthier Alternatives to Harmful PG Rooms

Living as a paying guest in your new city might be quite affordable and convenient, but it may not be completely healthy for you.

Most of the Paying Guest apartments are shared rooms. People from all across the country move into these PGs as a temporary and affordable solution for staying in the new city. The caretakers of these rooms don’t really like their job but, the money.

Paying guests are steering away because they’ve realized these reasons:

1. You shared the utensils with other guests

Not literally though, but the plates and utensils in the PG are used by other people who share the space with you. How hygienic is that? They also share mattresses; bed sheets and pillow covers. Thought they’re washed and cleaned regularly, how much do you trust the caretaker of your PG?

2. You are more likely to catch a disease in shared rooms

Isn’t it obvious? If someone falls sick in your shared room or shared house, you are breathing the same air while you are in your PG, even if you come over, only to sleep.

Even an uncovered sneeze is unhealthy for you. Plus, you are sharing the sheets, the shower and the washroom that they’re using.

3. Independent houses are available at the same cost

Online real estate rental solutions platforms like Nestaway.com are providing 1BHK and 2BHK flats for rent in Pune, bangalore and other metro cities without a brokerage. Plus, they take care of all the furnishings and provide competitive rent prices.

Who would live in a PG if you can take an independent room for the same cost?

4. Sharing wash areas is not cool

Even if you live in a PG with an individual room, you are most likely to share the washrooms and bathrooms in the house and it’s simply not acceptable for your health.

Unless you have a special reason to live in a PG, it shouldn’t be your first choice. Cleaning rooms are supposed to be clean. And multiple people using them makes it hard to keep it clean. How long can you wake up to a wet toilet seat, really?

5. You need your space to heal and grow which is not available in PGs

After a long day at work, you deserve your own space where you can be yourself and thrive in your comfort zone. Being alone aids physical, psychological and spiritual healing.

Whatever suits you. Loud music, complete silence, cooking your own food or doing yoga at home. You cannot do any of this in your paying guest apartment but, once you rent your own 1 RK or 1 BHK apartment near your office, you have all the time and space to do that.

6. You can never have valuables along with you in your PG house

It’s not surprising to see stuff getting stolen in PG houses. Stuff like shoes and expensive clothes get stolen at PG. It’s difficult to buy valuables when you are living in a PG. Got a bonus and bought a new scooter? Beware of the room mate who is fleeing the PG with your scooter keys!

Why would anyone live in such a harmful environment if good apartments are available for rent at the same cost that you would spend on a PG accommodation!
