Monsoon which brings relief and greenery and foliage also brings some bacterial and viral infections too. Monsoon which is known for it’s well-known evening snack combo “chai with pakoras” is almost everyone’s favourite duo for the evening tea time and snacks. But monsoon which is high in humidity and full of bacterial and viral infections could strike you on your little health negligence. Your stomach stays quite vulnerable to this infections. So, you need to take maximum care of your daily intake. There are certain foods that have higher risk of ailments and some food are totally wise for your stomach. 1. Leafy Vegetables

It’s going to be quite instinctive when you will be advice to avoid leafy vegetables in  monsoon. However, all our life we have been strictly believing the importance of green leafy vegetables in our diet. 2. Street Foods

As this weather is high in humidity your digestion process gets quite slow which could easily affected by street foods and the bacterias carried by flies and dirt. Even, if you think of an alternative to get some fried food at home you are not that smart, because heavy oils which are used mostly to fry and cook are mustard oil or refined oils which still could upset your stomach due to poor digestion. 4. Sea Foods

Salmons, tuna, catfish, eels, pomfret, crabs, shrimps are some of the kind of sea foods which are mostly consumed by people. But these creatures breed in this season, hence fresh sea food is scare during monsoon. Intake of these creatures could upset your stomach leading to food poisioning. Even if you try fresh water fishes that’s not even a good option because in rainy days all water bodies are loaded with dirt, waste waters, chemicals, bacterias, viruses etc. So you must avoid these foods during monsoon.

5. Red Meat

Red meat are quite heavy for digestion, that even in monsoon when your digestion process gets slower. Infections which breathe everywhere you can’t even get fresh meat without some real harmful infections which causes air-borne and water borne diseases like jaundice, typhoid, viral fever, diarrhea etc.

6. Street Fruit Juice

Any fresh food if stays exposed to the monsoon air for a prolonged period of time gets bacteria and fungus in it and is best avoided. The vendors keep their fruits cut up well in advance which gets easily infected and contaminated. Better prepare your fresh fruit juice at home and consume it instantly and avoid these unhealthy foods during monsoon.

7. Carbonated Drinks

Carbonated drinks like pepsi, coca-cola, mountain dew, limca etc reduce mineral levels in our body which reduces enzyme activity which leads to indigestion. When digestion is so weak in this season, carbonated drinks are best to avoid. Rather you could drink more water as sweat doesn’t evaporate quickly in rainy days which prevents our body from releasing heat.

8. White Rice

White rice when consumed in monsoon, it leads to bloating, swelling and water retention. Water retention, weak immunity and digestive system are high in this season. White rice takes more time to get digested hence this is the food that you must avoid during monsoon.

9. Pre-cut Peeled Fruits

Pre-cut fruits when stays exposed to monsoon air gets easily contaminated with virus and bacterias which have higher risk of causing stomach ailments and other air-borne diseases. So better wash your fruits well and slice it to consume instantly.

10. Mushrooms

Mushrooms are the monsoon’s favourite food option for vegans. But mushrooms which grows on damp soil, grime areas, unhealthy and unhygienic places carries higher risk of water borne, air borne and bacterial diseases.
