Looking for a shortcut to motivate yourself? Sorry to say, but there’s no shortcut for self motivation. When people say self motivation, the first thing that strikes our head is something big complicated concept or tough task, but it’s not that tough. We all have our dreams and goals and we need to be self motivated to achieve those. No one in this world except you, can motivate you. Most of us follow great personalities, elders or parents for self motivation. But wait, do you think getting motivated or how to get motivated by other’s counselling could really help you? Who knows you better than yourself?
Others can only provide you examples and experiences, but all you need is, ‘your experience’ and ‘your efforts’. Staying motivated is a never ending struggle which develops you and your inner qualities with lots of fun and interesting facts.
Let’s talk about the real and sure shot effective ways that will keep you self motivated all time.
Talk to yourself.
Most of the us just blindly keep going all day with the busy schedules and finding out different ways to stay motivated like reading magazines over self development, books, novels, even talking to some experienced people, but let me tell you, all you doing is just wasting your precious time. Try to talk to yourself and know yourself. Try to figure out, what bothers you?, what makes you happy?, what are your interests?, what are you good at?, your strengths your weakness your achievements, goals and mistakes. This process will make you clear about your thoughts, views and fears.
Set a well-defined Goal.
After getting familiar with yourself, it will be much easier to set a perfect and clear goal. Now, this goal is your ultimate target made by you, which you have to hit regularly in different ways and ideas. However, your goals are not constant as, once you achieve it, you have to set another goal to work on. Personal goals provide short-term and long term motivation.

Be positive and confident.
Yes, the most mundane advice I have ever heard. Being inclined to positivity helps you to be distracted from your failures, negative thoughts, fears and sadness. Positivity is something thinking about the brighter part of anything. For example, if you are working on an office presentation, then think that your presentation impressed every staff and seniors, your boss and you are being applauded with honour and credit. This will help you to work much better and keep you focused. Your fear will be gone filling you with lots of confidence.
List down your success and learn from failures.
Listing down your number of success you achieved in your life motivates you very much, making you more confident to achieve your goal and dreams. On the other hand, figure out your mistakes what you had done that failed you in past. Getting a full idea of your mistakes will help you to mend it, so that you will never repeat those mistakes again.
Have Control on Emotions.
You need to control your emotions. Not getting too much confident, too much sad or broken, scared will make you more strong. We all have a past full of mistakes, failures, betrayal in which we over indulge and lose focus. Well, past is a nice place to visit but not a place to live in. You can visit your past for figuring out your mistakes and weaknesses which will escalate your strength keeping you focused on your goal.

Talk to people.
Now, you must be wondering, why again wasting our time? Well, talking to people about your goals, dreams, plans will give you lots of feedback, that includes positive and negative opinions. Now again, why heading towards negativity? Well, positive opinions will no doubt boost you up but negative opinions are your choices. If you would like to ignore it, u may ignore it or if you want to take it as a challenge then it’s definitely going to motivate you.
List down your Reasons.
Well, this is for those people who easily get distracted from their dreams and goals. Make a list of the reasons, why you want to achieve the goal you have set? What are the reasons behind it? If you achieve it, how will you feel? How will it affect your life?, so that you can make a better stratagem to attain it.
Compare yourself with yourself.
Well, it’s better to get compared with yourself rather being compared with others. Comparisons abate strength in people. There are lots of people out there, we are not here to compete. Compare your previous actions with your present, that might work.
Try to be happy.
Experts say, happy people are easily motivated. It will enhance your strength and will keep you away from fear. Hey, being happy is your birthright, nobody can stop you of being happy. So keep smiling, it’s totally free!
