5 Great Gift Ideas for the Men In Your Life
This post was last updated on May 3rd, 2022
Everyone has that one guy in their life who is annoyingly difficult to buy gifts for, whether it’s your father, grandfather, brother, son, or friend. There’s no perfect gift that you can buy for him that will solve all your problems every time you need to get them something. However, what you can do is focus on his main interests and then get him a gift that he won’t already have but will also want. Here are five great ideas to get you started.
Cigar Sampler Packs
For the cigar smoking aficionado, they share a lot in common with men who are beer drinkers — they either have their favorites, or they love to experiment and try something new. Either way, they’ll always be happy to receive more cigars to enjoy, which is why cigar sampler packs make such a great gift. They include multiple cigars that can be mixed, just in case you’re worried about getting a box of only one cigar and him not liking it.
You’ll have to do some legwork to make sure you either find out that he likes to experiment, or what brands or types that he likes. You can try talking with any other friends or family that he smokes with for recommendations, or sneak into his supply when he’s not around and write down the brands that you find. If need be, you can show your written list to a cigar shop to help you pick out a sampler pack.
Sports Tickets
If your guy is a fan of any sport and has his favorite team or event, you can never go wrong getting him tickets to a game. If you’re skeptical about it, just search for “dad cries getting tickets” into YouTube and see the emotional reactions you can cause. For men who like sports, they can have an incredibly strong emotional attachment to their team and the players they like.
The best part is you can turn it into an event for them, depending on how expensive the tickets are. Take him to a great restaurant before, or send him off with his friends or family if you’re not a fan yourself. If he’s never been before, you can make it a gift he’ll never forget.
Beer Making Kit
If your guy likes beer and likes making things, a beer making kit can be a fantastic gift especially if you want to bond and spend time with him. It doesn’t just have to be something for him to make by himself, it can be something you help make with him — especially since it’s a lot easier to do with an extra pair of hands!
The best part is that if he likes it, it’s a gift that you can go to again in the future. If he already has a kit that he got himself, or that you got him before, you can get him a new recipe or upgraded piece of equipment to try out, and make it together again. If he doesn’t like beer? Shop online for gin gifts or some other types of liquor and look into wine-making kits to concoct drinks at home.
Deluxe Grooming Lounge Appointment
There’s barber shops, and then there’s barber shops. You can book him an appointment at a salon for men where he won’t just get pampered for a shave and/or haircut, he can also enjoy a his drink of choice and maybe even a cigar while he’s there. It can be an incredibly relaxing experience that lets him let off some stress.
Winery, Brewery or Distillery Tour
Another good gift idea for men that combines a thing they love — beer, wine or whiskey — with an experience related to it. Getting an experience as a gift makes it a lot easier to avoid accidentally getting a thing that he already has. Unless the man you want to take on a tour of a winery, brewery or distillery spends every weekend at one, it will be a rare enough experience that you can also try to make better.
You can tour multiple locations if there are a bunch nearby. You can take him to one at lunch or dinner that also has a great restaurant along with the great drinks. You can take him golfing before or after, or something else that turns it into an entire fun day of experiences.
